Notifications New in 0.11

LatestArr can tell you when a scheduled send goes wrong, by email, by webhook, or both. Set it up on the Notifications page.

The Notifications page with failure alert settings for email and webhook

When alerts fire

SettingDefaultFires when
On failureOnA send fails outright: an error, no SMTP profile set, or no recipients reached.
On partial failureOnSome recipients got the email and some didn’t.

Alerts only fire for scheduled and catch-up sends. When you choose Send now, you’re watching it happen, so there’s no alert. A send skipped because there was nothing new isn’t a failure.

Each alert says which newsletter failed, why, and what triggered it, and points you to the Logs page for detail.

Email

Pick an SMTP profile and an address to send alerts to. The alert comes from the profile’s default From address.

Webhook

Choose a format and paste the webhook URL:

FormatSends
DiscordA message to a Discord channel webhook.
SlackA message to a Slack incoming webhook.
ntfyA high-priority notification to an ntfy topic URL.
AppriseA failure notification to an Apprise API endpoint.
JSONA generic JSON body for your own automation. See below.

The webhook URL is stored encrypted and never sent back to your browser; the page only shows its host. Treat it like a password: anyone with it can post to your channel.

Generic JSON

{ "event": "newsletter.failed", "title": "LatestArr: \"Weekly Digest\" failed to send", "message": "…reason…\n\nTriggered by: scheduled send. Open the Logs page in LatestArr for details.", "newsletter": { "id": "3f2c8a1e-5b7d-4c9a-9e21-7d4b0c6f8a12", "name": "Weekly Digest" }, "trigger": "scheduled", "sendRunId": "b5130e95-0623-42f4-8509-11cc952a81ad", "time": "2026-09-28T13:00:00.000Z" }

event is newsletter.failed, newsletter.partial_failure, or test.

Rate limiting

At most one alert per newsletter per kind per hour, so a newsletter failing repeatedly doesn’t flood you. The limit resets when LatestArr restarts.

Testing

Send test alert sends a test to every destination as currently entered, saved or not, and tells you which worked. Webhooks time out after 10 seconds, and any response other than a 2xx counts as a failure.
